MD Cryo-EM Vitrification Screen
Vitrification screen for optimisation of cryo-EM sample preparation. Designed to help mitigate air–water interface adsorption, orientation bias, and aggregation.

Vitrification screen for optimisation of cryo-EM sample preparation. Designed to help mitigate air–water interface adsorption, orientation bias, and aggregation.
The MD Cryo-EM Vitrification Screen (MD1-911) is a rationally designed additive screen of 19 different conditions aimed at improving vitrification outcomes in single-particle cryo-electron microscopy workflows. It systematically addresses the most common sample preparation bottlenecks, including air–water interface (AWI) adsorption, preferred orientation, aggregation, and uneven ice - by providing a diverse set of validated detergents and surfactants for buffer and additive screening.
Developed by Molecular Dimensions in collaboration with Anatrace, this screen brings together over 60 years of combined expertise in detergents, surfactants, and cryo-EM sample optimisation.
