Field Sales Representative


An opportunity has arisen for a Field Sales Representative with a Science degree (or equivalent experience) to join the existing UK sales team within Agar Scientific Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity to further your career in a challenging environment mainly within the scientific instrumentation & consumables market. This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible team player to join a world class company based in Stansted. The successful candidate will be expected to work on a range of products and immediately engage into a commercially driven and multi-disciplined team.

Responsibilities include

  • Effectively represent Agar Scientific to existing & potential customer base in the north of the UK
  • To promote & sell the current product portfolio into the Academic, Pharma, Industrial, Life Science and potentially the Clinical sectors.
  • Identifying and develop sales opportunities to facilitate growth of the top line
  • To assist in marketing and general commercial processes as necessary in order to achieve set objectives.
  • Maintain accurate territory records,
  • Submission of accurate and timely reports and expenses.
  • Preparing quotations for customers and admin team
  • Complete all necessary documentation and administrative requirements.
  • Customer Support & training

These are the main functions of the role; however, employees may be required to carry out other, ad hoc duties, as may be reasonably required.

Person Specification

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Situated in the north of the UK, ideally on the M62 corridor
  • Educated to degree level in either Life Sciences or Material Science
  • Ideally have experience of working in a Life Sciences; Materials and/or a microscopy sales environment;
  • Experience of effectively liaising with business customers;
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a confident polite and efficient telephone manner;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
  • Ability to manage time and multiple tasks effectively;
  • Interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including good customer service skills;
  • Motivated individual who is flexible and willing to learn continuous best practice;
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and positive attitude;
  • Excellent organisational, time management and attention to detail skills;
  • Comfortable in being able work alone and/or within a team environment, contributing and sharing best practices, resources and ideas in order to continually improve the customer experience;
  • Ability to effectively manage customer relationships, promptly responding to queries; ensuring promises are kept with the ability to confidently manage expectations;
  • Recently graduated candidates will also be considered should they prove to demonstrate the necessary skillsets required to satisfy the post

  • B.Sc. Science Subject (or equivalent experience)
